START WHERE YOU ARE WITH WHAT YOU HAVE!!!!
I've started re-reading my old books and began reading this one by Robert Kiyosaki because I found myself needing a little guidance in terms of my career.
My dreams are still and has always been connected to 4 things:
1. Marketing
2. Entrepreneurship
3. Fashion
4. Creative Expression
I've recently been confronted with the urgency to “start”. A friend of mine said something so profound the other day, when I had posted about looking for my purpose.
She quoted an author, Naele Donald, and said:
“Seek therefore not to find out who you are, but seek to determine who you can be.”
That really hit home for me, and as I was reading this current book by Robert Kiyosaki, I stumbled upon the following gems that I'd like to share.
“For many people, the power of their excuse is more powerful than the power of their dreams.”
“Most people fail to get to market because they are constantly perfecting their product.”
“Delay in introducing a product can mean opportunities irretrievably lost, a window if opportunity lost.”
“A cup that is full is useless. Only when a cup is empty is it useful.”
“An entrepreneur cannot afford to know all the answers, they know their success requires that their cup is always empty.”
He even went on to write about how entrepreneurs thrive on strategic partnerships as opposed to the unending traditional hierarchies we find ourselves in when employed.
Entrepreneurs are often painted to be egomaniacs and power hungry but contrary to popular belief, that is not the case.
Successful entrepreneurs understand that they need the other person as much as that person needs them because of strategic partnerships/networks that they find themselves in. Which actually means you need to know how to be a team player, and that often leads to the importance of respecting the other person.
Robert goes on to elaborate that entrepreneurs are not controlling maniacs as many are lead to believe.
This book has awakened the entrepreneur in me. There are many things I want to see come to pass this year, I've literally been buried in books, both spiritual and business books. And even though I'm done with school and graduating again this year, the learning does not stop. And I for one, am willing and ready.
Lastly, I like how Robert emphasises how important it is to begin where you are, with what you have (entrepreneurs are opportunity driven, not resource driven).
It may not be much, but true entrepreneurs don't wait on someone to throw opportunities on their laps. If you're going to wait for everything to be aligned, you're going to wait forever.
Circumstances are never perfect for you to begin with that project you've been dying to share.
So here is taking a leap of faith, creating our own destinies and being UNAFRAID!!!!!!!

TWENTY-FOR-ME
As cliche is the heading is, this is definitely the year for me, this is the year I will put my needs first and be a bit more selfish than I have ever been. In the past I have been very generous with my time to people who were not worth it and dedicated my time to things that I believe did not serve any purpose in my life and should not have my attention even right now.
THIS YEAR I WILL:
- be selfish with my time.
- dedicate my energy to things that serve a good purpose in my life.
- be ready for everything and anything.
- work on project I left half-done.
- be a diligent student, not only in the classroom but a student of life itself, every thing and everyone is our teacher.
- talk less, listen and write more.
- create more opportunities than I will find.
- be on TIME.
- find ways and platforms where I can invest my passion for business.
- surround myself with progressive people.
- be encouraged even when the going gets tough.
- dedicate my time, daily, to meditation/prayer.
- focus less on stressing about a problem and focus more on finding solutions.
- read, read and read some more.
- only do things that will make me happy, if it does not make me happy, it does not need my time or energy.
- bring life to my ideas.
- be patient.
- be involved, be about it instead of just talking about it.
MAY THIS YEAR BE A YEAR OF STRENGTH, PERSEVERANCE AND GREAT RESULTS. MAY ALL YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE.

Birdman Feat Tyga And Lil’ Wayne – Loyalty Lyrics
[Tyga - Chorus]
rain snow, get my hustle on
Countin cash every morning before I leave home
family I love, don’t wanna leave this World alone
and before I leave home, leave home
I pray to God I won’t, loyalty is all I know
before I leave home
I pray to God I won’t, loyalty is all I know
before I leave home
[Birdman]
So fresh, bag full of money when I hit the curb
just cooked up left the kitchen full of birds, ya heard
thats the word you could get served
from the bullets to the keys is how we urge
to move on and groove and get the money straight
flip another cake 27, 28
I go the tax on the bubble
the money in the hummer, we shine every summer
yeah so we swagged out, Gucci down, Louie down
hood down, put it down uptown
catch me rollin in my Bentley
tooled up p-ssy with a b-tch and I’m all in it(?)
[Chorus]
[Tyga]
Uhh, sunshine like the brightest day
momma do you remember the time, Michael J
when I seen the video I said that’s gon be me
and I ain’t have to dream I made it my reality
folks laughed at me now everybody mad at me
I skipped class and I sh-tted on the faculty
young money greedy, cash money greedy
lyrics courtesy of www.killerhiphop.com
get it I’m gon eat it, never beat the hand that feeds me
shout Weezy, Stunna and Mack baby
top back south beach, hoes drive me crazy
watching out for fake sh-t, rats on some snake sh-t
give me rats for my statements
I’m that amazing
[Chorus]
[Lil Wayne]
Uh, on my way to get it
I’ma hustla write it down take a picture b-tch print it
ducking the lieutenant, staying on my pivot
the game ain’t sweet, but money make you forgive it
Uh, and nothings promised but a graveyard
cant see myself dyin’ broke, Ray Charles
Yea, now rock steady in this mutherf-cker
Paper come fast Tom Patey in this mutherf-cker
Uh, now do a doughnut in the money
I’m on a paperchase, but the paper aint runningNow f-ck the World till its cummin, here it comes
We get the bread and the bread crumbs, Young Money

The book is isnpiring to all who have dreams and teaches life lessons on how to pick yourself up when the odds seems to be against you. A good read and definitely a 'can't it down' book. Paulo Coelho is the one.
The book isn't so expensive probably around R120-R140 at Exclusive Books.
