So my friends an i were chilling on campus waiting for our next class, it was a bit breezy so i suggested that we move to the sun. TJO!!!! I shouldn't have hey.
"You lucky b/c you light, nna i'm not going to chill in the sun." said one of the girls. I had just opened a can of worms. It seems to me that a lot of BEAUTIFUL Dark Brown skinned girls are self-concious about their skin colour. At first this yellowbone thing was just whatever for me. But one of my girls told me that when ever she goes back home, people wil always have comments about what changed, could be about her hair, weight, etc. One thing she doesn't like hearing is "TJO! You are so dark now", the other added that the worst is when they say it in vernac, like "Umnyama kanjani." or "O so le motsho jwang."
I also added that i get irritated when people are like.. "Mo fe botsho otla bona omobe jwang." What that got to do with BEAUTY?!
I know the most beautiful girls in all shades brown, whatever skin colour. I think once you believe you are ugly, you WILL be UGLY. If you believe you are not beautiful, why do you expect the rest of us see your beauty? CUM ONNN!
Embrace your strong features, might be your eyes, lips, bum, long legs, etc. Why is beauty based on the shade of your skin colour? STOP IT! LOVE YOURSELVES.
