Chronicles of an aspirant Entrepreneur (Part 1) Teamwork, Leadership and Dedication

I always hear people talk about how they do not want to work for anyone once they done with their studies and want to be self-employed. Impressed by the suits that CEOs wear and their bank balances is not good enough to want to venture into entrepreneurship, it does take time, effort, hardwork and dedication to get to the top. It is all well and good to want to be your own boss, but it is not as easy as it seems and you have to be ready to start at the bottom.
We have had alot of speakers come to our entrepreneurship classes at school, telling us about how they started and everything we should expect in our quest to be business owners and all i can say is one needs to be willing to go the extra mile in this persuit.
The most important aspect of starting or growing a business is managing your team and being a good leader, alot of entrepreneurs are always just concerntrating on cashflow and financial projections and all other things but not on their team. Yes, like they always say "Cash is King" but so are your team members. This is what i'm learning this week via the assignment i have for school.

It is better to lead from behind and to put others in front, especially when you celebrate victory when nice things occur. You take the front line when there is danger. Then people will appreciate your leadership.
Nelson Mandela

Teamwork divides the task and multiplies the success.

I wanted to be an editor or a journalist, I wasn't really interested in being an entrepreneur, but I soon found I had to become an entrepreneur in order to keep my magazine going.

Respect your fellow human being, treat them fairly, disagree with them honestly, enjoy their friendship, explore your thoughts about one another candidly, work together for a common goal and help one another achieve it.
~Bill Bradley

Ridiculous yachts and private planes and big limousines won’t make people enjoy life more, and it sends out terrible messages to the people who work for them. It would be so much better if that money was spent in Africa.. and it’s about getting a balance.

Management is doing things right; leadership is doing the right things.
